McKenzie Decompression Method

The second type of decompression therapy, referred to as the McKenzie method or MDT, is a system of diagnosis and treatment of joint-related issues, most prominently those associated with the discs of the spine. While not technically decompression in the classic sense, McKenzie aims to achieve the same result as decompression therapy – reducing the size and severity of a spinal lesion so that the disc may heal and return to normal function.

Using patient education and easy-to-understand exercises, McKenzie is an essential tool for reducing derangements in the discs of the spine (e.g. fissures and herniations).

This low-tech method empowers patients because it puts the treatment in their hands and reduces their reliance on more traditional conservative therapy for disc-related issues in the neck and back.
